Self-Quarantine Take 2

Week 2 of being self-quarantined back at home and things haven’t been too bad except that it has been a little uncomfortable for me since I’m usually not home in the middle
of the semester. On top of me self-quarantining myself, my state has highly recommended that residents participate in social distancing, so I won’t be going anywhere anytime soon .
Coronavirus virus cases have been increasing rapidly ever since I returned
home in the U.S and a lot of people are concerned about their safety. Stores have been
emptied out of supplies, some even compare it to when people prepare for a category 5 tropical storm or hurricane .

On a good note, my family members and I haven’t been feeling any symptoms of Corona (Thank God) and the days of me being locked in my room are slowly coming to an end. Fortunately, I’ve been able to be in contact with my close friends from home and
many good friends I made during my time in Denmark. Hearing from them brought me so much happiness in the midst of all this chaos. The last time I was able to spend time with my abroad friends before we were all
sent home, was visiting the beautiful botanical gardens. It reminded me alot of the greenhouse I frequent at my home institution; I cherished every
moment of all of us taking pictures and and finally being warm after 2 months of weather no higher than 40 degrees.

We discussed how it was a bummer for our spring semester to be cut short , how we
really missed each other, and that we wouldn’t be able to continue exploring parts of Denmark. We were supposed to travel to France, Greece, Italy and the Netherlands. I ,at the time, was very excited to go and travel to Paris, France. Hearing so many good things about France, it was only right for me to add that to my agenda when spring break was around the corner. With this unexpected virus, that trip would unfortunately have to be put on pause. The important side of it is that I’m grateful to be back home safe and that many of my friends were too.

With most of my time time being spent in my room, besides catching up on Netflix series that I missed, prayer was definitely one of the ways I get by. As we all gain more information about the coronavirus, I hope people don’t become overwhelmed by the amount of information given as well as the lack of information given at times. This is all unfamiliar territory for many, so all we can do is each do our part for the greater good.
